Program Description

Our Management programs will provide you with the people skills and business knowledge to succeed and advance in for-profit or non-profit organizations. Once you graduate, you can find a new position or gain a promotion to a position such as general manager, supervisor, assistant human resources manager, office manager, retail store manager, sales manager, distribution manager, business owner, production supervisor, training coordinator, recruiter, buyer, or a purchasing agent.

Our Management certificate consists of only 6 classes, so you can finish it in 2 semesters studying part-time. You can take classes in any sequence and there are no prerequisites to begin the program. Classes are available online, on campus, and in a hybrid format (a mix of on-campus and online). The certificate can be earned fully online. All classes within the program apply towards an AS degree in Business, concentration in Management. Once you earn this certificate, you will use all of the 6 classes + take more classes in Business + general education classes to graduate with an AS degree in Business, a concentration in Management.

Managers are needed in nearly every industry. You can apply knowledge and skills developed in our program to any large or small, for-profit or non-profit, organization. You will find our flexible and popular Management certificate and degree useful to find a new job, or to be promoted to a supervisory or managerial position. Our programs are also highly beneficial if you are currently working as a manager and wish to upgrade your skills and improve your chances for further promotion. You can customize both the certificate and the degree with electives that best meet your needs or options you find most useful.

Financial Accounting

Explores financial accounting, its importance and how it is used by internal and external users as a decision-making tool. Covers accounting information systems; application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to value assets, liabilities, and equity; preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial statements. Includes topics on cash flow statement, cash and accrual accounting concepts, merchandising operation, internal controls and ethics, reporting and accounting for receivables, payables, long-term assets and liabilities, inventory, depreciation, stockholders’ equity, stocks and bonds.
