Program Description
This certificate program offers specialized study in harmony and musicianship to prepare you to teach, tutor and coach music fundamentals, harmony, musicianship and basic form analysis. Completion of this certificate indicates that you are prepared to offer instruction in basic music theory, ear-training and sight-singing. The certificate may be pursued concurrently with the pursuit of an AA or AA-T degree program.

    This course is a study of harmony and voice leading in the Western Common Practice. It addresses diatonic functionality, four-part voice leading, simple musical structures, harmonic and formal analysis, and musicianship skills including sight singing, rhythmic training, dictation, and keyboard realization.
