Advanced manufacturing uses information, automation, sensing, and networking, and/or cutting edge materials and emerging capabilities enabled by the physical and biological sciences, for example nanotechnology, chemistry, and biology. This involves both new ways to manufacture existing products, and especially the manufacture of new products emerging from new advanced technologies. Learn the foundations of advanced manufacturing processes and specific manufacturing skills for entry into this growing field.
The fifteen-unit specialization in Electronics System Technology prepares the graduate for careers supporting factory automation, robotics, and electronic maintenance. The fifteen-unit specialization in Machine Tool Technology prepares the graduate for careers in industrial maintenance and machine tool maintenance.
