ECD 96 - Work Experience Seminar

Provides the focal point for the coordination of the student's curriculum with college supervised employment/volunteering in the student's major field. Emphasis on building strong working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers. Issues pertaining to the modern workplace, including problems often encountered by employees in care and education settings involving ethical dilemmas and conflicts.
Corequisite: ECD 95.

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  5. Personal philosophy of education, including reference to theorists, importance of play and approach to working with families and colleagues. Philosophy should address use of NAEYC Code of Ethical Behavior and student's plan for ongoing learning and professional development. This is a Key Assessment for NAEYC Accreditation and must be used by all instructors who teach this course.
