PEAC TKD2 - Intermediate Tae Kwon Do

Designed to further the development of the beginning student in the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do. Intermediate skills in blocking, kicking, punching and katas will be introduced. This is the second in a series of structured martial art courses in the way of the "fist and foot"
Prerequisite: PEAC TKD1.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. demonstrate three intermediate katas;
  2. demonstrate intermediate blocking and defensive tactics;
  3. demonstrate three intermediate level kicks and punches;
  4. demonstrate the ability to spar in a controlled environment.

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Demonstrate three intermediate katas.
  2. Demonstrate three intermediate defensive blocks.
  3. Read the chapter on combination kicks and punches. Demonstrate two different kicking and punching combinations in a controlled sparing situation.

Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. Demonstrate and explain the physiological reasons for performing a proper warm up.

  • Students are required to wear either the basic karate/judo attire or that recommended for activity classes at Chabot College.
