Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate passing drills and defensive strategies need to play basketball at an intermediate level. Those skills include dribbling, passing and shooting with either hand;
demonstrate the ability to play a non-stop 40 minute basketball game;
evaluate individual and team performance in all aspects of the sport, including technique and offensive/defensive strategies;
discuss and demonstrate complex offensive and defensive team play.
Course Content:
Present nature of game and opportunities for play outside of class
Care and use of equipment
Court conduct and conditioning
Basic skills for presentation of the baseball pass, two-hand overhead pass,one-hand wrap around pass, hook shot, free throw and jump shot

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Read the chapter on passing drills and be prepared to explain terminology and demonstrate a baseball pass, two-hand overhead pass, and one-hand wrap around pass.
Analyze and critique students hook shot, jump shot, and free throw shooting technique. Provide feedback to help improve their performance.
Describe the following violations and indicate the consequence of each violation. (1) Palming the ball; (2) 1 shot or a 1 and 1 foul; (3) 2 shot foul; (4) basket interference.
