PEAC SOC4 - Advanced Club Level Soccer

Designed for the student who has aspirations to club level soccer in the local recreational leagues. This course will cover all aspects of beginning to intermediate team play at the recreational level.
Prerequisite: PEAC SOC3.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. demonstrate traveling with the ball and passing to teammates on the outside;
  2. demonstrate accuracy in dribbling and passing to teammates with good vision;
  3. demonstrate a knowledge of every position on the field;
  4. demonstrate offensive strategy and decision making during a game;
  5. demonstrate awareness of defensive strategies during a game;
  6. demonstrate accurate passing in front of the goal;
  7. play 5V5, 7V7, And 11V11 for 90 minutes.

    4. Defending and Attacking

  2. Advanced functional training

    1. Decision making during game situations

    2. Advanced awareness of the field of play

    3. Field Positioning

    4. Contextual Interference

    5. Vision with speed of play

  3. Practice Matches: 5V5, 7V7, 11V11

  4. Advanced Game strategy

  5. Rule changes at the club and recreational levels of play

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Watch a video on soccer play and then write a one page paper on player positioning and and the responsibilities that go with playing that position in a game situation
  2. Demonstrate proper defensive positioning on the field during soccer match in a 3 versus 2 situation
  3. Demonstrate accurate offensive dribbling and passing to teammate on the outside of the field
