Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate the four competitive strokes;
use training equipment such as: kickboard, pull buoy and hand paddles;
demonstrate a streamline, an open turn on the wall, and introduction of a racing start;
swim 200 yards without interruption.

1. Typical Assignments
Demonstrate the ability to swim butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle 50 yards.
Read the chapter on stroke biomechanics and discuss stroke patterns of the four competitive strokes.
Describe and demonstrate appropriate technique of a competitive racing dive and streamline/breakout from the starting platform.
