Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
develop and demonstrate the function of all field players;
develop and demonstrate offensive attack, and counterattack as it relates to tournament play;
develop a level of fitness required to meet the demands of tournament play;
demonstrate effective defensive positioning during a "set" offensive attack.
Course Content:
Offensive positions in water polo.
Defensive positions in water polo.
Offensive strategies in relation to designed plays.
Defensive strategies in relation to designed plays.
Aerobic and anaerobic training in an aqautic environment.
Dryland and weight training as it relates to the competitive water polo player.
Pre-tournament nutrition.
