PEAC TBB2 - Intermediate Tournament Baseball League

Designed for advanced baseball students to improve sport specific individual, group and team skills while participating in actual Baseball games. An extensive baseball background and previous experience is needed for success in this class.
Prerequisite: PEAC TBB1, Strongly Recommended: Student should be a member of a team and/or established and recognized baseball league.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. perform advanced tournament baseball skills;
  2. evaluate individual and team performance in all aspects of the sport including technique and offensive/defensive strategies;
  3. demonstrate an intermediate level of physical conditioning as related to the game of baseball and sport specfic techniques;
  4. demonstrate an ability to play/compete at an intermediate level;
  5. demonstrate knowledge of fundamentals of baseball;
Course Content:
  1. Performance of sport-specific baseball individual & team skills during actual Games.
  2. Individual & Team Development, execution, and evaluation of offensive and defensive techniques and strategies.
  3. Physical conditioning specific to demands of baseball.

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Read the chapter on the physical demands of playing tournament baseball. Design a training plan to develops the body to meet these physiological demands.
  2. Chart QABs + Quality At Bats for each batter for an entire game. Analyze the chart and write up for each batter.
  3. Chart Pitch Types & Locations for 1 pitcher during an entire game- Analyze chart and determine pitch & location tendencies.

Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. Demonstrate and explain the physiological reasons for performing a proper warm up.
  2. Work within a group, or team, to solve problems
  3. Demonstrate improved fitness, and overall wellness, by participating in a consistent training program

  • Each student needs baseball equipment: glove, bat, shoes, helmet, etc
