Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate the various court formations that can be used in doubles play;
demonstrate increased depth of shots in regards to clears, smashes, and serves;
demonstrate defensive footwork needed to defend against a smash;
demonstrate around the head shot.
Course Content:
1. Badminton play at an advanced level. 2. Knowledge of court positioning. 3. The rules and etiquette of competitive badminton. 3. Preparing the body for the sport of badminton through the use of stretching techniques, agility drills,and core development. 4. Game strategies used in both singles and doubles play. 5. Advanced techniques used for various types of shots and returns.

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Write a paper on when a head shot would be used in badminton.
Read the chapter on rules, demonstrating etiquette and compliance with current rules of badminton competition and then write a paper on the basic rules of singles badminton.
Demonstrate to the class, on court the difference between offensive vs. defensive court positioning.
