Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate knowledge of the rules, scoring, and rotations used for Badminton play;
execute the fundamental badminton strokes, forehand, backhand, serves, clears,smash, drops, and net play;
demonstrate basic strategies for both singles and doubles play;
demonstrate increased strength, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular fitness;
participate in a class tournament competition.
Course Content:
1. Explain the basic rules and court markings.
2. Footwork and court movement used for strokes.
3. Different serve techniques.
4. Serve for depth and location.
5. Demonstrate accuracy with clears, smashes, and drop shots.
6. Basic strategy for singles and doubles play.
7. Singles and doubles tournament play.

Demonstrate the difference between drop shots and the smashes.
Demonstrate the use of the overhead clear shot, both forehand and backhand.

Describe and demonstrate three types of serves.
