Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. demonstrate advanced safety and etiquette in a tournament setting while competing in archery;
  2. demonstrate advanced shooting proficiently, i.e., with a higher arrow average while in a competitive situation;
  3. demonstrate accuracy of shooting at 30 & 40 yards in a tournament setting;
  4. demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of tournament rules;
  5. demonstrate an understanding of a positive mental approach to shooting in a tense situation.
Course Content:
    1. Continued development of personal mental checklist for improving performance in a tense situation

    2. Continued development of concentration while shooting in a competitive tournament setting

    3. Safety, care & maintenance of equipment in tournament archery

    4. Accuracy and scoring in archery tournaments

    5. Advanced shooting drills for improvment in a tournament setting

    6. How to set up a simple archery tournament

    7. Exercises to improve shooting strength and accuracy

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Read the chapter on small tournament scoring and on paper set up a small 4 team - 3 person per team archery tournament
  2. Demonstrate the rules for safety on the archery range, then walk through the rules showing examples of do's and don'ts on the range
  3. Demonstrate how to shoot at various distances in archery with accuracy, precision, and skill in a tournament setting

Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. Work within a group, or team, to solve problems
  2. Demonstrate and explain the physiological reasons for performing a proper warm up.
