Designed to provide advanced information to students wishing to improve their physical fitness through the use of progressive resistance exercises. Students will learn about advanced training methods and develop advanced personal workout programs.
Prerequisite: PEAC WOW2.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate the proper use of a squat rack;
demonstrate the use of a vibe plate;
demonstrate proper use of the ReAct Machine;
demonstrate an increase in muscle strength, endurance and flexibility;
demonstrate an understanding of the role of diet in physical development;
demonstrate an understanding of the muscle groups used in specific resistance training exercises.
Course Content:
1. Principles of resistance training.
2. Resistance exercises using free weights.
3. Core development using medicine balls and kettle bells.
4. Introduction of dynamic and static flexiblity training.
5. Development of personal workout plans.
6. Incorporating the use of heart rate training to improve cardiorespiratory fitness.

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Keep a 10 week food diary and write a summary of changes that have occurred.
Evaluate the changes you have experienced in flexibility, strength and endurance on your assessment scores.
Fill out workout logs for each class session and compare weight increases at the end of the semester.
Watch the video on resistance training, demonstrate proper techniques.
