Orientation to the dental hygiene program to include information regarding scheduling, course requirements, financial aid considerations, program policies and procedures as well as core competencies.
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the dental hygiene program

Measurable Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. identify the policies and procedures that must be followed as a student in the dental hygiene program;
  2. distinguish between the core competencies required for the dental hygiene program;
  3. demonstrate the ability to successfully plan a weekly schedule for the first semester of the dental hygiene program;
  4. Identify the resources available to new students in the dental hygiene program
    a. Library

    d. Tutoring Services
    e. Additional Student Services
  5. identify the procedures required to apply for financial aid;
  6. demonstrate the ability to identify and utilize planning and organizational skills as they pertain to successful completion of the dental hygiene program;
