The second in a series of fitness courses to prepare people who would like to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Prerequisite: PEAC MFT1.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. run non-stop for 55 minutes;
  2. perform 50 sit ups non stop;
  3. run 2 miles in 20:00 or less;
  4. squat 75% of their body weight;
  5. perform 25 up downs non stop;
  6. forward lunge 35 yards.
Course Content:
  1. Drills and Exercises to improve running performance
  2. Interval training using heart rate to improve 2 mile performance
  3. Exercises to improve core strength that will ultimately improve sit up performance
  4. How to squat properly
  5. Designing a Squat and Leg Routine to improve overall strength and fitness
  6. Push up variations to improve overall push up performance
  7. Introducing aerobic volume to improve 2 mile performance

  1. Demonstration/Exercise
  2. Lecture/Discussion
  3. Class and group discussions
  4. Small Group Coaching
  5. One-on-one coaching
  6. Simulations
Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Demonstrate to the class three exercises that would improve leg strength that would lead to better running.
  2. Design a personal training plan that includes aerobic running training and exercises that would improve sit up and push up performance.
  3. Lead the class through a 10 minute dynamic warm up prior to the main workout.

Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. Work within a group, or team, to solve problems
  2. Demonstrate and explain the physiological reasons for performing a proper warm up.
