Pickle Ball is one of the fastest growing court games in America. In this course students will learn the rules of play and develop the skills to play competitive pickle ball.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  1. describe and demonstrate an understanding of the basic rules of Pickle Ball;
  2. demonstrate the ability to serve correctly in Pickle Ball;
  3. volley both forehand and back hand.
Course Content:
1. History of the game of Pickle Ball and how it developed.
2. Basic rules and scoring 
3. Player Positioning on the court
4. Serving 
5. Volleying: forehand and backhand 
6. Beginning team tournament play
Methods of Instruction:
  1. Demonstration/Exercise
  2. Group Activities
  3. Class and group discussions
  4. Small Group Coaching
Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
  1. Write a short paper on the non volley zone and the rules that pertain to this area.
  2. Demonstrate to the class two methods of serving.
  3. Design a drill to improve racket and hand eye coordination. Present this drill to the class.
