Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate a dynamic warm-up and preparation for their respective event;
demonstrate how to train properly both for pre-season and in season competition;
track their blood pressure over a six week basis;
officiate a field event;
name and identify three key ingredients for success in their respective event.
Course Content:
Introduction to the various events in track and field
Training concepts and variations in training based on event and training age
Key concepts and elements for success in each of the five areas of track and field
Proper dynamic warm-up based the event
Cool down, recovery and nutrition to enhance recovery and adaptation
Blood pressure. What is it and what does it mean?
Symptoms of prediabetes
Methods of Instruction:

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Demonstrate to the class five dynamic warm-up exercises that are directly related to your event
Identify and then demonstrate three key three positions or elements that are critical to achieving success in your event
Keep a five day eating and activity journal. Analyze the journal then point out areas for improvement
Write out the rules for officiating a horizontal jumping event

Demonstrate and explain the physiological reasons for performing a proper warm up.
