Prerequisite: PEAC YOG1.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
execute intermediate asana movements;
execute complex balance postures;
demonstrate progressive relaxation techniques;
demonstrate an improvement in dynamic flexibility:
demonstrate an improvement in static strength.
Course Content:
Intermediate yoga asanas sequences.
Sequence vinyasas which require both slow and fast execution.
Belly breathing techniques to enhance relaxation.
Techniques of progressive relaxation.
Static strength postures.
Journaling to increase awareness.

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Keep a six week journal. In the journal record each day's yoga activity and progressive relaxation exercise. Note how you felt both before and after the exercise, and how you felt throughout the day.
Demonstrate to the class six static strength asanas. Explain to the class what are the main muscles strengthen through these exercises.
Read the chapter on intermediate postures (asanas) then perform an intermediate asana the contains at least six exercises in a sequence.
