PEAC WEI3 - Advanced Weight Training
0.50 - 2.00 Units
Designed to teach the student advanced lifts and training methods in weight training and to develop the highest level of force and to become significantly stronger through the use of muscular strength training stimulus. The student will learn to synchronize their muscles involved in the exercise.
Prerequisite: PEAC WEI2.

Measurable Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
demonstrate the ability and knowledge to design an exercise training plan;
demonstrate the key movements and positions used in muscular strength training;
develop and demonstrate an improvement workload capacity.
Course Content:
Safety in the weight room and a awareness of over stress injuries.
Demonstration of muscular strength training/lifting techniques.
Explanation and demonstration of the different tools that provide different training stimulus.
Explanation and demonstration of maximum load method- resulting in higher muscle fiber recruitment.
Explanation and demonstration of slow contraction velocity repetitions with full recovery (longer rest periods).

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
Demonstrate three power movements that are directly related to strength developed through squat exercises.
Read the chapter on developing maximum muscular strength and be prepared to discuss how intensity and volume are related to developing maximum strength levels.
Read the chapter on body composition and metabolism. Write a paper on how resting metabolism is directly affected by lean body mass.

Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
Advance knowledge and comprehension of F.I.T.T. principles
Understanding of various weight training & strength training program protocol development.
Knowledge and execution of advanced weight training exercises

Student must be addressed appropriately. A material fee will be charged for towel.
